- ➤ Local grocery stores are bracing for a drop in sales after SNAP benefits are reduced, which may push families to choose cheaper and less healthy options. One market will offer a promotion for furloughed federal workers starting November 10th — store owners worry that the cuts will hurt sales during the holiday season. KSDK
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ St. Clair County’s Department of Military Affairs will hold an emergency food drive at Scott Field Heritage Air Park from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday to support Scott Air Force Base families facing paycheck delays from the ongoing government shutdown—volunteers will collect nonperishable food, personal care items, cleaning supplies, baby products and pet food.
