The awards were part of the 49th annual ceremony and add to the station's long record of strong local reporting.

Colin Thomas from Edwardsville won the Belleville West 3A Boys Cross Country Regional on Oct.
25, finishing the three-mile race in 14 minutes, 26.60 seconds—his team also secured the regional title with 41 points as Quincy and O’Fallon followed with 80 and 88 points.
Ellie Bush from O’Fallon won the Belleville West 3A Regional cross country race on Oct.
25 at Belleville West High School—she ran the three-mile course in 17 minutes, 30.60 seconds and earned a place in the sectional competition. O’Fallon’s team finished second overall with 55 points compared to Edwardsville’s 33 points.
