  • Residents filed a lawsuit in St. Clair County court to stop clearing 19 acres at Mount Hope Cemetery for a planned solar farm—claiming the project harms local heritage and the environment with construction expected to begin this month.  Riverbender
  • Members of AFGE Local 2192 rallied in Metro East to support federal workers and demand an end to the shutdown; Congressman Bell and Congresswoman Budzinski attended as federal workers face missed pay due to failed funding talks beyond September 30. The shutdown began after no agreement was reached on government funding.  First Alert 4
