Caritas Family Solutions celebrated an Adoption Day event at the St. Clair County Courts in Belleville—15 children officially joined their new families through collaboration with Judge Elaine LeChien, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and local adoption agencies. The nonprofit expects the event to become an annual celebration that supports children in finding safe, loving homes.

Belleville West captured the team title at the Alton Cross Country Invite when Anthony Tillman finished first in 16 minutes, 51.69 seconds on Sept.
27. The team scored 21 points as Jersey, Collinsville, Alton, and Fort Zumwalt West also placed in the top five.
