GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ MetroLink is finishing the last part of its Secure Platform Plan that began with safety upgrades at 11 stations last year. The $52 million project cut incidents by 50% and added 315000 boardings compared to last year—upgrades at 28 more stations will complete by January 2026. KSDK
- ➤ On Tuesday, the St. Clair County Transit District announced it received $450,000 in federal funds from the Transportation Alternatives Program for Phase 1 of the Fairview Heights-Swansea Trail. The project will build a 0.25-mile paved trail connecting Illinois 161 and Sullivan Drive/Union Hill Road to the MetroBikeLink system—linking new routes to established paths. Riverbender
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 23, IDPH released new fall vaccine guidance—issuing a statewide order so residents can get COVID-19 vaccines at pharmacies and clinics. Health providers are advised to follow CDC schedules for other immunizations to keep everyone safe this fall. Riverbender
