  • Maci McCabe, a Lindenwood cheerleader who survived a near-fatal car crash and lengthy hospital stay with 35 broken bones and 7 surgeries, was in another car accident Monday morning but walked away unharmed—she had returned to cheering on Saturday.  KSDK

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Legislator Nikki Budzinski secured House approval of bills to help veterans and reversed a planned shutdown at the U.S. Steel mill in Granite City—actions that mark significant wins for local steelworkers. This move will support both veterans and the regional steel industry.  St. Louis Post-Dispatch

SPORTS NEWS

  • At the Edwardsville Invitational cross country meet held Sept. 20 at Mud Mountain, Max Weber of Civic Memorial won the boys race with a time of 15:38.8 while the Edwardsville boys team clinched the overall win— in the girls race, the Popelar sisters finished fourth and fifth as the Tigers team earned the title with 36 points.  Riverbender
