- ➤ Metro East residents have long suffered flooding when heavy rains push storm water and sewage into homes. The Army Corps of Engineers is re-laying and cleaning sewer pipes near Cahokia Heights — IEPA will replace 5800ft of sewer line and repair 15 lift stations by December 31 while federal funds remain frozen.
