Cahokia Heights started cleaning abandoned properties three months ago and demolished 28 homes since June; crews will soon remove 15 more using a $300,000 grant + further funding is being sought.

Belleville Police remembered beloved Chief Matthew Eiskant, who died after a long battle with cancer, with a growing memorial at headquarters.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 30 at Belleville East High School and Monday, Aug. 31 at First Baptist Church O’Fallon, with a funeral procession starting later Monday.

A movie is filming on Saint Louis University campus today and will soon shoot in other parts of the region, with producers calling for 1,800 extras in September.
