The Belleville Area Humane Society will host its annual Wine for Whiskers fall festival on September 18—from 5:30—9 p.m.—at The Weingarten to support local animal care.

Marathon Petroleum Corp. rebranded several local gas stations in Missouri and Illinois over recent months — including a former Casey’s station in Alton and six others — to launch its presence in the St. Louis region.
Harold Schaedler, 49, took off on his routine motorized bike ride Saturday evening near Illinois Route 157 in Cahokia Heights but did not return—he was fatally struck by a hit-and-run vehicle near his Belleville home and police have not yet identified the driver or located his missing bike.
