Gateway Regional Medical Center, after a state warning and last month's ambulance diversion, will implement a new patient diversion rule and switch billing systems to improve care.
Owners also injected $1 million to support payroll, and the emergency room remains open 24/7 (with tightened protocols) to keep patients safe.
