Cahokia Heights School District will open an 200,000 sqft high school with 60 classrooms, science and business labs + arts and trades facilities, expected to serve about 1,100 students starting Aug.

Early Wednesday, the St. Clair County Emergency Management Agency issued a shelter-in-place order along Sauget Industrial Drive due to a hazardous materials fire, and residents were told to stay indoors + close windows until crews secure the area.
Belleville City Council will vote at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug.
17 on a proposal to use the McCormick Center as an emergency shelter for homeless residents when temperatures drop to 20° or below. The plan includes Salvation Army support & security measures.
