- ➤ Police responded early Thursday, July 30 to a fatal shooting in Washington Park and found Demario D. Walker, a man age 46, dead from multiple gunshot wounds at a residence on the 5000 block of Warren Avenue — officials said the investigation remains open. Riverbender
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Children entering kindergarten must have two doses of the MMR vaccine and two doses of the varicella vaccine to help prevent measles, mumps, rubella and chicken pox, while DTaP is also recommended to guard against diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough. Pediatricians advise parents to talk with health care providers about vaccine schedules—these shots help lower the risk of serious illness in crowded classrooms. KSDK
