- ➤ A St. Clair County jury found East St. Louis woman Sabrina Dunigan guilty on two counts of endangering a child's life for her alleged role in the 2021 fire that killed her five children when they were home alone — her sentencing is set for Sept. 26. St. Louis Post-Dispatch
- ➤ Kelvin Fuller, a 19-year-old Walmart worker in Collinsville, stabbed a coworker at the deli counter on Wednesday after saying he felt disrespected—he admitted to bringing a knife and gloves to work and is now held at Madison County jail facing charges of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery. St. Louis Post-Dispatch
- ➤ On July 19, 22-year-old nursing student Winston Rulo was brutally attacked at a Bethalto apartment complex after a neighbor yelled homophobic slurs, leaving him with a brain bleed and skull fractures; police arrested Joshua Javon Morrison—charged with arson, aggravated arson and aggravated battery—and later took into custody Ashley Ruckman for burning his clothing and video games, while family and friends started fundraisers to cover his medical costs.
