🚨 Crime
St. Clair County Animal Control and Sheriff’s Office rescued nearly 100 dogs plus four cats and nine birds from a Washington Park hoarding case earlier this week; the animals will undergo care (vaccinations, grooming, and checkups) and may be adopted soon while investigators question the caretaker.
📰 Economy
Data released yesterday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Illinois Department of Employment Security showed that five metro areas gained nonfarm jobs over the year while unemployment increased in 11 areas, with Belleville's rate edging up from 4.3% to 4.4%.
