🏥 Health
Illinois officials approved a $231 million project for a new hospital to replace the Touchette facility in Cahokia Heights and granted $15 million for an adolescent mental health wing; the project will enhance local health services.
A new 108-bed hospital approved by the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board will be built at 1928 Sandy Ridge Road about 5 miles from its current site, with groundbreaking scheduled for March 2027 + opening expected in 2029.
