- ➤ Investigators in Metro East interviewed about 40 people+ searched areas near Clarmin and Lenzburg as they looked into the 15-month-old disappearance of 37-year-old Brittany Moeser, who had left a note saying she was going for a walk while authorities continued following new leads and offered a reward of 5,000 dollars for any information. - ➤ Early Friday morning at 1:06 a.m., Belleville police responded to an armed vehicular jacking at 126 Adeline Drive where a woman was forced from her Dodge Challenger by armed suspects with assault rifles—officials later stopped the stolen car on Anderson Lane and pursued a Chevrolet Impala on Interstate 64—resulting in the arrest of two juveniles and the recovery of firearms. - ➤ State Farm will raise homeowner insurance rates by 27.2% on Aug. 15 for current policies and on July 15 for new ones — the company insures nearly one-third of Illinois homeowners. Gov. Pritzker called the increase unfair as it will also raise deductibles and lower claim payouts amid high severe weather losses. KSDK

- ➤ Illinois Lottery will mark Lottery Week from July 14–18 with National Lottery Day on July 17. A report shows that during the fiscal year from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 38 Illinois residents became millionaires and claimed $2.6B in prizes while most proceeds supported K-12 education and charitable programs. - ➤ State Senator Christopher Belt announced that 13 libraries in St. Clair and Madison counties received over $400,000 in funding from the Public Library Per Capita and Equalization Aid Grants program—Belleville Public Library got $62,546 and East St. Louis Public Library received $127,530. - ➤ Illinois health officials said the measles outbreak in southern Illinois, which infected eight linked people in April and May (with no new cases since May 22), is now over.
