Matthew D. Howard, a 29-year-old man from Belleville, was charged on June 17th with two Class 1 felony theft counts and a credit or debit card fraud count for allegedly stealing over $372,000 from a Hartford business (the theft spanned nearly two years).
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville hosted its inaugural Forensic Murder Mystery Camp in Belleville from June 9 to 13 to let high school students try lab work, courtroom simulations, and expert mentoring.
The camp brought together local partners (SIUE’s Forensic Sciences Department, SIU Carbondale’s Simmons Law School, and the Southwestern Illinois Police Academy) and featured regional leaders at its opening and closing events.
