The Illinois state fire marshal is investigating two fires reported overnight in Cahokia Heights (one on Lazercheff Drive where crews found heavy fire at a home and one on Camp Jackson Road where officials noted signs it was set intentionally).

Maia Sebold, a home-schooled Belleville student, earned second place in a national art contest celebrating America—250 that asked young artists to share what America means to them.
She said the contest meant a lot because it recognized her talent and will inspire her to keep drawing.
🏈 Sports
An IndyCar driver raced go-karts with over a dozen local kids living with diabetes yesterday—an event that gave the children a chance to experience racing before the Bommarito 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison County.
The friendly competition highlighted that racing can be more about sharing passion than just winning.
