ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A dashcam video from Friday showed a van launching off the ramp of a flat-bed tow truck between Millstadt and Belleville in St. Clair County—rolling onto its side and nearly hitting an oncoming SUV—with no one injured.  St. Louis Post-Dispatch

CRIME NEWS

  • Monte Derrell Boatman, 37, of Fairview Heights admitted to sexually assaulting a woman on the Gateway Arch grounds in 2023 and pleaded guilty to a felony count of aggravated sexual abuse in a St. Louis federal court—his sentencing is set for November 12.  St. Louis Post-Dispatch

HEALTH NEWS

  • The East St. Louis chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated hosted a mental health fair Saturday to bring together more than a dozen local organizations + raise awareness about available support, especially within the Black community. The event offered community members access to resources from groups such as Washington University and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.  First Alert 4
