- ➤ On May 29th, Congresswoman Budzinski hosted her second annual Workforce Summit at the CAVE in Belleville to focus on career and technical education and regional workforce development. Nearly 100 local stakeholders — including representatives from Boeing, Ameren and Gulfstream — joined panel discussions to plan new strategies for good-paying jobs. Riverbender

- ➤ On May 29, Belleville East won the volleyball regional finals by beating Belleville Althoff Catholic 27-25 and 25-17 while the O’Fallon Panthers defeated Edwardsville 25-19 and 25-15 — both teams will meet today at 5 p.m. at Belleville West gym in the sectional match. In baseball playoffs, Quincy outscored Belleville West and now the Blue Devils will face Edwardsville for the regional championship game today at 11 a.m. Riverbender
