- ➤ Caseyville police said that 67-year-old Kent Recklein died after being attacked by pitbulls when he and his son-in-law tried to break up a dog fight on Susanne Court near Old Caseyville Road at about 2 p.m. Tuesday—St. Clair County animal control later took three dogs from the scene. KSDK

- ➤ Illinois turkey hunters harvested a record 18,189 wild turkeys during the 2025 spring season, breaking last year's record (17,208 turkeys). Youth hunters set a new record (2,099 birds) and 89,687 permits were sold while hunting was open across 100 counties. Riverbender

- ➤ For National Women’s Health Week, Dr. Dennis Sands of OSF St. Anthony’s spoke on Our Daily Show and explained that Pap smears and HPV tests can find early signs of cervical cancer. He said screenings are done every three years for those under 30 and every five years for people 31–65 (results take 10 to 14 days) (many young patients clear HPV on their own) to help keep women healthy.
