- ➤ CASA Southwestern Illinois is seeking volunteers to advocate for foster kids in St. Clair and nearby counties. Adults 21 and older can sign up for training in Belleville from Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15, 2026 (applications available online). Riverbender
- ➤ Strawberry Festival returned to Eckert’s Farm Saturday, giving families a chance to pick bright red strawberries, enjoy rides, live animals, treats, and browse vendor booths. The annual event runs every weekend in May with a special Memorial Day celebration (a nod to cherished farm traditions). First Alert 4

10 AM – 2 PM — Bennie's Pizza Pub — Purchase tickets at local bars and restaurants — Sample delicious Bloody Marys while exploring downtown Belleville's shops.

11 AM - 3 PM — Eckert's Cider Shed — Entry fee required — Compete in a fun cornhole tournament while supporting local veteran charities.
