- ➤ Eckert's Farm in Belleville is opening its pick-your-own strawberry fields Friday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with field passes priced at $3 on weekdays and $5 on weekends— a special $15 pass adds treats like a quart of strawberries, a cider doughnut and a cup of cider; the farm will also host a citywide scavenger hunt starting Monday and a Strawberry Festival on May 10-11 and May 17-18 with family rides and live music. - ➤ After a successful pilot program started in October 2020, St. Clair County Transit District extended its partnership with Chestnut Health Systems—investing over $550,000 for a fifth year to connect transit riders to essential resources in Belleville—further enhancing safety and service for thousands in the region.
