🌲 Environment
Illinois American Water announced that the American Water Charitable Foundation awarded 11 organizations 2025 Water and Environment grants to support water education, conservation and cleanup projects in local communities.
The grants are part of the Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program and include support for projects such as Belleville Public Schools District 118’s Monarch Butterfly Conservation Project — a key effort to enhance local environmental education.
🏈 Sports
Edwardsville's track meet at the Winston Brown Track and Field Center saw Sophie Shapiro sweep the hurdles with one of the season's fastest sophomore times and Father McGivney Catholic's Lilly Gilbertson and Elaina Rybak win the 400 and 800 meters.
The Tigers clinched the team title with 160 points—finishing ahead of O'Fallon and Normal University—after a strong performance on Friday.
