  • Belleville's third annual Touch-a-Truck event supported autism awareness through local Police and Cities in Harmony on April 25 and drew a large crowd.  Riverbender

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Taylor Burns was named Student of the Month at Althoff Catholic High School. The senior is active in theater, music, academic teams, and community service and plans to study physics at Colorado University in Boulder in the fall.  Riverbender
  • Althoff Catholic High School senior Carysse Turner was named Student of the Month for her achievements in theater, art and animal science — reflecting her blend of STEM and creative pursuits. She volunteers locally and plans to study animal science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.  Riverbender

HEALTH NEWS

  • Residents on Bunkum Road in Fairview Heights are required to boil water for at least five minutes after a water main broke near Highway 50 (Highway 157), triggering an order that began Monday; Illinois American Water is currently repairing the break, as reported by St. Clair’s Emergency Management Agency.  First Alert 4
