Three individuals from Belleville and East St. Louis were charged with a Class 4 felony of mob action on April 11 after they allegedly attacked a victim on March 27 — all remain out on pretrial release and are presumed innocent.

An event held on Saturday in East St. Louis by Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice informed families how the Illinois Crime Victims Compensation Fund—offering up to $45,000 for counseling, burial and cleanup costs—supported those affected by violent crimes.
