Amazon purchased a nearly one-million-square-foot warehouse in Pontoon Beach industrial park, expanding its presence in Metro East.
The company did not disclose its plans for the building while it already operates facilities in Edwardsville and St. Peters.
🚨 Crime
Police investigated an overnight homicide in Washington Park on April 10th—officers received a call for a man down in the 1200 block of N.
53rd and found a man dead at a home while state police assisted in the investigation.
🏛️ Government
HB1237 passed the House by a vote of 71-40 on Thursday and would ban Native American team names, mascots, and imagery in schools if it is signed into law.
Mascoutah superintendent Dave Deets said the change could cost his district over 2 million dollars and urged lawmakers to listen to community concerns before the Senate vote.
