- ➤ Community members, SWIC students and local officials will join the Take Back the Night Walk at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17 at Southwestern Illinois College to raise awareness of sexual violence and support survivors. Metro East Every Survivor Counts and its partners will run resource tables and host testimonials including a speech by State Representative Katie Stuart — a sign of the community’s commitment to a safer space for all. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Wildwood's 9-year-old Joshua Hooper, a third grader at Babler Elementary School, won his age group at the Drive, Chip & Putt competition at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia—finishing one point ahead of a competitor from Troy, Virginia. His coach said Hooper stayed calm under pressure—earning him one of the 10 spots for his age group in a playoff. KSDK
