CRIME NEWS

  • Three Riverbend residents—one 25-year-old from Alton, one 28-year-old from Cottage Hills, and one 26-year-old from Belleville—were charged with a Class 4 felony for mob action after they struck a victim on January 1 and were granted pretrial release following their initial court appearance by the East Alton Police Department.  Riverbender
  • A 17-year-old from Fairview Heights was charged with first-degree murder for fatally shooting Cicero C. Maple, 41, at a bus stop on the 2500 block of Bond Avenue in East St. Louis on Sunday night+ he was held at the St. Clair County Juvenile Detention Center+ charges were filed on Wednesday.  St. Louis Post-Dispatch
