After 13 tornadoes struck parts of the region last week and claimed at least 13 lives, he said over 20 claims were filed within 24 hours—residents should review their coverage to prepare for future storms. - ➤ Daryl S. Muhammad, 48, was sentenced to 49 years in prison on Friday by a St. Clair County judge for his role in a 2017 robbery and shooting at Casino Queen, according to the Illinois State Police. St. Louis Post-Dispatch

- ➤ Storms on March 14th produced 13 tornadoes that hit the Fournie family farm near Mascoutah in St. Clair County, damaging grain silos, sheds, and vehicles with about $3 million in losses; the family said recovery could take a 10-year process as insurance did not cover all damage. State officials are still assessing at least $23 million in uninsured losses to decide on a presidential disaster declaration—Joe Fournie's son has started a GoFundMe to help bridge the gap.
