About this event
In 2019, Chalon Ohlone artist Christine Howard Sandoval began making large-scale drawings and sculptures from hand-mixed adobe mud. The works study how ephemeral Native arts such as basketry and earthworks inflected Spanish mission architectures and afterlives in California. Framed by Sandoval's project, this talk looks to erosion and decay as pathways for California Indigenous arts to participate in the regeneration of abundant life against the odds.
