He currently teaches banjo, ukulele, guitar, vocals, and songwriting, and performs solo and with the band, River Despair. Brian founded Mimic Music Services in 2013, aiming to provide the St. Louis area with the best music education, entertainment, and therapy available. Watch Brian Teach

“Brian is a wonderful teacher, encouraging, light-hearted, patient, generous, and thoughtful. He is very open to helping his students meet their own goals.”

“We started with playing music, that helped get rid of any jitters right away. Brian was able to answer all questions, and didn’t make anyone feel stupid for asking.”

“ Brian made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. ”

“I liked the safety to make mistakes and meeting other folks at my skill level, to build a community and grow together.”

“ I liked being pushed a bit out of my comfort zone as well as lots of actual music playing and just enough but not too much music theory. ”

“ Brian is enthusiastic, supportive and highly knowledgeable. He makes being a beginner an absolute joy — he puts me at ease, and gives great tips that improve my playing immediately. “

“I had zero confidence as a singer, yet with encouragement and coaching I sang a song in front of people in this class. My wife still was in shock when I told her. “

“Brian did a terrific job. He is enthusiastic and personable. I emulate his singing style and enthusiastic delivery. “

“Keep up the great work getting people playing with each other, and for respecting all instruments. “

“ I’m learning more, gaining confidence, and having a good time. “
