Book signing for "The Story of the St Louis Zoo" set for Fri, Nov 6 at the St Louis Holiday Zootique

About this event

We all love to visit the Saint Louis Zoo, but do you know the story of how the place grew, from a Forest Park exhibit, a mere menagerie, to a fabulous zoo that will forever be free? The Story of the Saint Louis Zoo tells a tale of Zoo history.

Over the last century, the Zoo grew from an idea gaining height within the 1904 Flight Cage to today’s three campuses caring for thousands of animals and inspiring generations of guests to connect with our wilder world. Meet Miss Jim and Raja the elephants, Sigfried the walrus, Kali the polar bear, and their many furred, fanged, and finned friends as we explore our Zoo through the decades. The Story of the Saint Louis Zoo takes readers from the original historic bird, reptile, and primate houses to today’s modern developments in Destination Discovery and WildCare Park, and all that’s in between. Join the Zoo crew, as we celebrate 100-plus years of wonder in The Story of the Saint Louis Zoo.
