3D Printing Camp

About this event

Open to everyone, this hands-on workshop led by aerospace engineer Kay Wells guides you through the entire 3D printing process. Walk away with your own custom design and an official certificate of completion.

Program Description

Session 1

Time: 9:00 – 12:00 pm

• Introduction to 3D Printing

• Introduction to Posie Pots & 3D Prints

• Learn how modern 3D printers work and see how engineering and design meet sustainability.

Session 2

Time: 1:00 – 3:00 pm

• Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD)

• Creality & Bamboo 3D Printer

• Cura Download with Thingiverse File

• Let’s 3D Print Your Files!

💡 Participants will dive into CAD modeling , experiment with 3D printers , and use Cura slicing software to prepare and print their own creations. By the end of the camp, every student will walk away with:

• A completed 3D-printed prototype designed by themselves

• Hands-on experience with professional-grade printers

• An understanding of how digital ideas become real-world objects

• A printed certificate and the start of their personal design portfolio

• Explore the story behind St. Louis-based Posie Pots’ patented self-watering planter

Small group mentoring ensures high instructor attention, and scholarships are available for underrepresented youth . Missouri Works community partners proudly supports this program .
